PROLIFIK FIELD NOTES

CIRCA MMXI

Well, after a great time at Echo Conference last week, we’re gearing up for next week’s conference - The Global Leadership Summit in Chicago.

Nick, Dave, & I have been logging some late nights to put the finishing touches on Prolifik’s contributions to the Summit’s content (including this animation sequence for the live bumpers).

So, if you’re going to GLS, we’d love to see you! Drop us a line or come by and say hey. We’ll most likely be near the booth.

On New Beginnings

Via heynickjones Jul 23rd

The last few months at Prolifik have been bittersweet. Many of you may already know this, but our good friend and fellow designer, Clint McManaman is no longer on the Prolifik team.

Clint and his wife Heidi are two of the most ministry minded individuals I have ever known. When I first met Clint, he and his wife were working long hours passing out bibles to porn stars with XXX Church. Since then, they have dedicated their lives to serving others, being a friend to the friendless, and laying everything on the line to follow that small whisper of a calling from God when it comes along.

So it came as no surprise to the Prolifik team when Clint began talking a few months ago about taking a ministry position at a great church in California. We work tirelessly at Prolifik to serve the ministry organizations we work with, but at the end of the day, we are a film and design firm, not a ministry. And for a man called to the ministry, Prolifik simply was not going to work.

In many ways it is sad to see Clint go. We made some great memories together as a team. But it is encouraging to see a man lead his family into undiscovered territory time and time again to follow the calling that has been placed on his life.

Clint has expressed to us his desire to start Difted, his web and design company, back up to handle projects outside of his normal church duties. We couldn’t be more thrilled to see this happen. Difted and Prolifik have always enjoyed a close relationship, and that will continue into the future.

We sincerely love the McManaman family, and wish them all the best as they turn their wagons west, and head off into the next chapter of their lives.

From Clint:

Every creative endeavor I have immersed myself in, from music to design and story telling has been in tandem with ministry on some level. Three summers ago my wife and I chose to leave full time ministry and focus solely on design as business with Difted, which then led to a partnership with the team at Prolifik last summer. This choice was due in part to a much needed personal break from the previous seven years of our lives which were made up of touring in a Christian band, serving as a leader at our local church and serving as a creative director for a ministry and a non-profit. I wanted to step away and just run with my design shop for a while with the thought that at some place in time we would serve in ministry somewhere again.

That time has come and we McManaman’s are going into full time ministry again - a decision that comes from nearly 6 months of seeking and preparing for whatever would be next in our life. The result is serving in a creative director position at Neighborhood Church in Redding, CA where my good friend and fellow VERSA band mate Tim Hawkins leads worship. This opportunity will allow for creative work as well as a place my family and I can serve and grow together.

With this physical move and new focus I’ll be leaving the team at Prolifik. I’m thankful for the opportunity to work with Nick, Bryan and Dave. We had a good deal of fun together over the past year and those guys are like brothers to me now. As for design work for clients outside of my role at Neighborhood, I plan to work with a handful of clients on the side as time permits and I plan to do this through the Difted shop.

I know that this comes out of nowhere for some of you, my dotcomrades and friends who keep up with me, and for that I am sorry, but life is wild and sometimes news doesn’t travel as fast or as well as we’d like.

Thanks for reading.
